Event and crew

Recording of the Historical Aircraft Group's 1994 airshow, with commentary from the show's announcer. Before the displays, the announcer calls up, group by group, the armed forces veterans present, including those from Vietnam and the Gulf War, to come forward to the show line. The national anthems of Canada and the United States play, and the crowd applauds the veterans of both countries and of any other.

What is shown

After several announcements to the public, a Corsair taxis past the spectators back to parking while the takeoff of two other aircraft is announced. The announcer then begins recounting how the United States entered the Second World War, starting from the departure of a Japanese fleet in late November 1941.

The aircraft on display

The Vought F4U Corsair is one of the aircraft known as the "bent-wing bird" for the shape of its wings. The announcer recalls that the examples built by Goodyear received the designation FG-1D.
