Douglas DC-3 Lisunov Li-2T Skytrain Dakota HA-LIX arrival at ILA 2016 Berlin AirShow
MUC-Spotter · June 22, 2016 · 2:26 · German · Air show
Video from the channel MUC-Spotter about Douglas DC-3, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 2:26. Language: German. Video type: Air show.
Footage of a Lisunov Li-2, the Soviet version of the Douglas DC-3, arriving at an airshow. The aircraft first flies over the airfield and then lands, with German commentary in the background.
The flyover, approach and landing are shown. The commentator highlights the aircraft's very slow approach.
According to that commentary, the DC-3 family, including the Li-2, owed its success to that slow approach and a very short landing roll, which allowed it to land almost anywhere.
