At the MOST IMPORTANT MILITARY AIR SHOW in LATIN AMERICA 🇲🇽 MEXICO MAKES HISTORY 😱 *FAMEX*
Video from the channel Aldara y Alex about FAMEX 2023 (Feria Aeroespacial México), linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 47:14. Language: Spanish. Video type: Air show.
Event and crew
Travel vlog in which a couple of creators follow FAMEX 2023, the aerospace fair held at a Mexican military base, over its four days, from the 26th to the 29th. They are joined by a friend with an aeronautical background who explains some technical details to them and acts as interpreter with the foreign crews. The tone is that of a personal diary rather than specialized coverage.
What you see
The first day covers the official opening, presided over by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs together with the heads of National Defense and the Navy, in the absence of the president. This is followed by the first flypasts and a tour of the static display, with Mexican and American military aircraft, one of them bearing the registration of a Nebraska unit; their companion explains that the nose tubes are not weapons but air intakes for instruments that measure pressure and density. Also featured are aerobatic light aircraft flying inverted, a university aeronautics simulator, and a chat with a sergeant about insignia, rank badges and the army's tattoo policy.
The second day includes a parachutist demonstration, the takeoff of the American display aircraft, flown by a woman, and a visit to Squadron 301's hangar and the commercial pavilions. There, armored tactical vehicles, bulletproof glass tested with armor-piercing ammunition, weapon replicas and stands from different states are on show. At the base museum, a colonel explains that the uniform of the first aviators (boots, jodhpurs and lined leather jacket) came from the cavalry.
The last day, Saturday, is devoted to the closing show watched from the stands, with parachutists carrying the flag, formation flights and very low passes over the crowd.
The aircraft on display
The video does not focus on any particular model and barely identifies the aircraft it shows. At the close, an attendance of 135,000 people is mentioned, and it is noted that the fair is biennial, with the next edition expected in 2025.
