Video from the channel VideoFromSpace about Falcon 9, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 10:28. Language: English. Video type: Launch.

The mission

Launch of the Crew-13 mission to the International Space Station aboard a Falcon 9, with the Dragon capsule "Grace", commanded by NASA astronaut Jessica Watkins. The video covers liftoff, ascent, the first stage's return and Dragon separation.

Sequence

The nine Merlin 1D engines lift off at full thrust, about 1.7 million pounds. They throttle down ahead of maximum dynamic pressure, and after engine cutoff the stage separates and the second stage's vacuum engine ignites. The first stage needs three burns to come back: the boostback burn, a three-engine reentry burn lasting around 12 seconds, and the landing burn, about 15 seconds. Per the commentary, the atmosphere strips away roughly 70% of its speed. It touches down at Landing Zone 40, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, with sonic booms heard overhead. Meanwhile, the second stage accelerates the crew to about 13,300 miles per hour at close to 3 g and clears the final abort zone, off Shannon, Ireland.

Outcome

Second-stage engine cutoff and a nominal orbital insertion are confirmed. After a minute of stable flight, Dragon separates and continues on alone toward the station with its crew aboard.
