Video from the channel VideoFromSpace about Falcon 9, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 9:13. Language: English. Video type: Launch.

The mission

A Falcon 9 launched Northrop's Mission Robotic Vehicle (MRV) together with its Mission Extension Pods (MEP). It lifted off from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Liftoff occurred on schedule, at 5:15 p.m. Eastern Time.

Sequence

SpaceX's official broadcast follows the ascent and explains each milestone. First, the thrust reduction before Max Q, the point of maximum aerodynamic load, and the transition to supersonic speed. Then, first-stage main engine cutoff (MECO), stage separation and the first burn of the second stage's Merlin Vacuum (MVac) engine. Finally, fairing separation, with both halves returning to Earth in an attempt at recovery. The second stage then enters terminal guidance and shuts down its engine for the first time (SECO-1).

Outcome

Mission control confirms a nominal orbital insertion. The video ends before the second MVac burn, scheduled for T+28 min 52 s.
