Dassault Rafale Rafale EQ

The Rafale EQ is the single-seat version for the Qatar Emiri Air Force, accompanied by the Rafale DQ two-seater. Qatar ordered 24 aircraft in 2015 and a further twelve in 2018, for a total of 36 that have now all been delivered; the first Qatari Rafale was handed over in February 2019. The English Wikipedia values the initial contract at 6.3 billion euros, while Airforce Technology puts it at seven billion dollars.

The Qatari version, derived like all export aircraft from the F3 standard, incorporates two adaptations of its own that set it apart from the French aircraft: the integration of the Lockheed Martin Sniper targeting pod in place of the French Damocles or TALIOS pods, and the integration of the TARGO-II helmet-mounted display from Israel's Elbit. With it Qatar became the Rafale's second export customer after Egypt and the first in the Persian Gulf, before the United Arab Emirates signed the largest order in the programme's history in December 2021.
