The Rafale EH is the single-seat Rafale for the Indian Air Force, paired with the Rafale DH two-seater. India ordered 36 aircraft at the F3-R standard, 28 Rafale EH and eight Rafale DH, and all had been delivered by July 2022. The agreement also provides for those 36 aircraft to be upgraded to the F4 standard.
According to the French Wikipedia, the Indian version is based on the F3-R and incorporates a series of specific adaptations: compatibility with the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS); an improved weather function for the RBE2 AESA radar; an improved on-board oxygen generation system (OBOGS); a Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) and a Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS); engines adapted to high-altitude bases; a Rafaut AT-730 triple ejector rack and Multiple Ejector Racks (MER) for light munitions; Rafael's X-Guard towed decoy and a specific update of the SPECTRA system's database. In May 2025, during Operation Sindoor, Pakistan claimed Rafale kills that India did not confirm, in an episode marked by conflicting press accounts. The Indian Navy has for its part ordered 26 Rafale Ms at the F4 standard, in the Rafale MH variant adapted to its carriers.
