3C Project Gemini
Video from the channel Threeifbyspace about Project Gemini, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 2:05. Language: English. Video type: Documentary.
Short educational piece that presents Project Gemini (1965-1966) as a bridge between Mercury and Apollo. It notes that it used an improved version of the Titan II, launched from launch pad 19, and lists among its astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins, Gus Grissom, Jim Lovell and Gordon Cooper.
It sets out the four objectives it had to meet to make Apollo possible: demonstrating that humans can withstand long flights (at least eight days, with two weeks as the goal), mastering docking between spacecraft in orbit, testing work outside the spacecraft, and perfecting reentry and landing.
The program totaled 12 missions and ended in November 1966.
