Video from the channel Hazegrayart about Apollo 12, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 5:17. Language: English. Video type: Launch.
The mission
An edit of the Apollo 12 launch with the mission's original audio and added music, without narration. The title focuses on the lightning strikes that hit the vehicle during ascent.
Sequence
The end of the countdown is heard, along with engine ignition and liftoff at 11:22 Eastern Standard Time. Then comes Pete Conrad's report on the yaw program. Jerry Griffin asks for status ahead of stage separation while range and altitude are called out: first 17 miles of range and 20 of altitude, then 33 of altitude and 45 of range. Later, the escape tower jettison and the stage skirt separation are confirmed, at 122 miles of range, 61 of altitude, and 10,000 feet per second.
Outcome
The crew reports an ISS caution light and a high CO2 partial pressure. They also report that they have reconnected all the fuel cells and buses, and that they will align the platform once in orbit. Having lost their event timer, they synchronize a mark at 4 minutes 30 seconds with Houston.
