Eurofighter Typhoon ISPA3

ISPA3 was delivered in June 2011 as a Tranche 2 aircraft within the instrumented series production programme. It was used for several test campaigns, including work with the Litening laser designator pod, and once these were complete it was returned to operational configuration and handed over to the Spanish Air Force in February 2014. Its career illustrates the purpose of the ISPA programme: to provide lightly instrumented production airframes, loaned to industry by the operating nations, with which to validate specific equipment without permanently withdrawing front-line aircraft.
