The Spanish designation for the two-seat Eurofighter; CE.16-01 was the first Spanish production Typhoon to fly, on 17 February 2003 from Getafe.

CE.16 is the designation the Spanish Air Force applies to its two-seat Eurofighters, following the convention by which the inserted E identifies dual-control versions. The first Spanish production Eurofighter Tifon to fly was precisely CE.16-01, construction number ST001, which took off on 17 February 2003 from Getafe air base. The same serial headed the deliveries to the Spanish armed forces: CE.16-01 was the first aircraft received, within the initial establishment of Spain's first Eurofighter squadron, assigned to Ala 11 with a total of fourteen aircraft. The two-seaters have since underpinned operational conversion for Spanish pilots, a task concentrated in 113 Escuadron of Ala 11. The Halcon I programme, signed in June 2022, includes four further two-seaters among its twenty Tranche 4 standard aircraft.
