The mission
Recording of the countdown and liftoff of Apollo 11, the flight meant to carry the first men to the Moon, with commentary from the Apollo-Saturn launch control.
Sequence
The narration begins just past the six-minute mark, with liftoff set for 32 minutes past the hour. At the five-minute mark the spacecraft's access arm is fully retracted, and control relays this to the astronauts. Shortly after the four-minute mark the automatic sequence starts, overseen by the main computer, and the upper-stage tanks are pressurized. In the final minute, Neil Armstrong thanks everyone for their good wishes. At 15 seconds guidance switches to internal, the ignition sequence is announced, and the rocket lifts off.
Outcome
After ignition, the recording follows the launcher's ascent with music only.
