General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon F-16A/B (Block 1/5/10/15/15OCU/20)

The F-16A (single-seat) and F-16B (two-seat trainer) entered USAF service from 1978-79, with the production aircraft's first flight on 8 December 1976. Across Blocks 1, 5, 10, 15, 15OCU and 20 the design matured: Block 15 (from 1981) enlarged the horizontal stabilizers and added extra hardpoints, while Block 15OCU (Operational Capability Upgrade, from 1987) introduced the improved F100-PW-220 engine and updated avionics. It formed the basis of most export programs (Peace Marble, Peace Onyx, etc.) and of the later European Mid-Life Update (MLU).
