Fokker Dr.I Fokker V.4

The Fokker V.4 was the first genuine Fokker triplane, with three wings without longitudinal stagger and interplane struts arranged in a «V» that replaced wire bracing. It measured 5.75 m in length and 6.21 m in upper-wing span, powered by a French Le Rhône 9J rotary engine of 120 hp (89.5 kW). Evaluation pilots — among them Werner Voss — reported excessive control forces due to the lack of aerodynamic balance on the ailerons and elevator, a defect corrected in the next prototype, the V.5. A single example was built.
