History
The Polish DC-2s
The DC-2B is two DC-2s sold to LOT Polish Airlines and fitted with two 750 hp (560 kW) Bristol Pegasus VI radials — British engines in an American aircraft sold to a Polish airline.
LOT was one of the European carriers that bought the DC-2 through Fokker in the Netherlands, along with KLM, Swissair, CLS and Spain's LAPE. None of those aircraft was built in Europe: Douglas built and flew them in the United States, they were shipped with wings and propellers detached, and Fokker erected them near the port of arrival.
