Single-seater for the Indonesian Air Force: an order for 42 Rafale F4s (26 single-seat and 16 two-seat) signed on 10 February 2022; first batch of three received on 28 November 2025 and six delivered by May 2026.
History
The Rafale EI is the single-seat version for the Indonesian Air Force, paired with the Rafale DI two-seater. On 10 February 2022 Dassault stated that Indonesia had officially signed an order for 42 F4-standard Rafales, consisting of 26 single-seat and 16 two-seat aircraft, making the country the first customer in South-East Asia and one of the first to receive the export F4 standard. Indonesia formally received its first batch of three aircraft on 28 November 2025 in a ceremony at a Dassault facility in Bordeaux, and six had been delivered by May 2026.
During President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Indonesia on 28 May 2025, the two countries signed a letter of intent for the purchase of various military hardware, including an undisclosed number of additional Rafales.
