Video from the channel Cortes do Space Orbit about New Glenn, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 15:51. Language: Portuguese. Video type: Launch.

The mission

Broadcast commentated by Space Orbit of the third flight of New Glenn, launched on a Sunday morning from Florida with a BlueBird Block 2 communications satellite to provide mobile service from low Earth orbit. It was the first reuse of a booster of this rocket, which stands 98 m tall and has seven methane/liquid-oxygen engines.

Sequence

After liftoff, the rocket passes the speed of sound and Max Q, shuts down the first-stage engines and separates the stages successfully. The second stage ignites and the fairing is jettisoned, although the feed cuts out frequently. The booster performs the re-entry burn with three engines, descends and re-ignites to land on the Jacklyn barge, where it is later seen depressurizing.

Outcome

The booster lands for the second time, in the first reflight of a New Glenn stage. The second stage shuts down its engines, but Blue Origin's broadcast ends without footage or confirmation of the final orbit status.
