Shuttleworth Military Air Show 2026

August 29, 2026

A B-17G Flying Fortress, an A-26 Invader and an RAF Chinook role demonstration headed the visiting line-up of the 2026 Military Air Show at Old Warden, the date on which the Shuttleworth Collection pays tribute every summer to those who served on land, at sea and in the air. On 29 August the day stretched into dusk with two flying displays.

The programme opened the gates at 09:00 and split the flying into two blocks: the first from 14:00 to 18:00, and a second slot from 19:00 to 20:00 to make the most of the low light. The visitors included the Warbird Experiences P-51D Mustang, the Aircraft Restoration Company's Spitfire XI, a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire, a Westland Lynx from Project Lynx and, as a rarity, a 2Excel Boeing 727, alongside a Harvard IV, a Ryan PT-22 with a Boeing Stearman and a Miles Hawk Trainer 3. The resident collection put its own Spitfire and Westland Lysander into the air. On the ground, the Military Camp gathered military vehicles, re-enactments and air-defence equipment the public could handle; tickets started at £37, with children and parking free, and Shuttleworth House stayed closed that day. Every appearance was subject to weather and to each aircraft's serviceability.
