The Douglas A-26 Invader performed at the Shuttleworth Collection's Military Air Show 2026, at Old Warden Aerodrome. It was flown by John Dodd, with its owner, Marcin Kubrak, as co-pilot. The aircraft is based in Poland and was spending a few weeks in the United Kingdom.
The video follows the flying display through to the final pass, with the show's commentary in the background.
According to the commentary, this example served in Korea: in June 1951, at Kunsan, it became the aircraft of the squadron commander, Lieutenant Colonel Charles W. Howe. The commentator reviews the type's use in the Second World War, Korea, Vietnam and Laos. He also recalls the 1961 Cuba episode: the CIA flew A-26s modified and painted in Cuban colours to bases in Guatemala and Nicaragua, and in five days shot down half of them.
