Event and team
This is a highlights reel of the 2025 Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show, the event that commemorated the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. It covers the two days of displays and the preceding Friday, which had the best weather of the three days and featured several notable rehearsals.
What you see
On Friday, a CL-13B Sabre Mk 6 performed a rehearsal with full aerobatics. On the public days those manoeuvres were not repeated, since British air shows do not allow aerobatics with swept-wing civilian jets. That day a Lysander and a Blenheim also flew together, and ten historic aircraft performed a formation and tail chase organised by the Aircraft Restoration Company. On Saturday eight Hawker Hurricanes flew in formation, the largest such formation since the early 1950s. Among them was Hurricane Mk 2A P3351, restored for a Czech owner. At the end came the Big Wing, with 15 Spitfires and 7 Hurricanes: 22 aircraft, the largest formation seen at a Duxford air show. While it was forming up, a Hispano HA-1112 Buchón acted as the "joker". The Lancaster of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight also took part.
The aircraft on display
Several unusual aircraft appeared. One was a replica of the CA-13 Boomerang, the first Australian-designed fighter, visiting Duxford for the first time. Another was the Avro Anson Mk 1 of RAF Station Czechoslovakia, the only one airworthy, restored in New Zealand, making its UK debut. The A-26C Invader Sweet Eloise II also flew, forming up with a P-47 and a Fury. Rounding out the programme were the Hawk 75A-1 and P-40F of The Fighter Collection, a Catalina, a Swordfish, the Norwegian Vampire, the B-17G Sally B and three Mustangs.
