Video from the channel Biggsy about Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show 2025, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 8:45. Language: English. Video type: Air show.

Event and team

The video was filmed at the 2025 Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show. The commentator explains that crosswinds forced several planned aircraft to be withdrawn from the programme and notes that a Boomerang was visiting Duxford for the first time. A Bristol Blenheim comes on next.

What's shown

The Blenheim performs a solo display with several passes in front of the crowd. Meanwhile, the commentator sums up the aircraft's history. Much of the commentary is barely audible over the engine noise.

The aircraft on display

The aircraft represents the Mk 1F long-range fighter version. This version carried a ventral pack with four .303 calibre Browning machine guns in addition to the standard armament. When war broke out in 1939, Blenheims took part in the RAF's first offensive actions and suffered very heavy losses. Blenheims were based at Duxford until spring 1940, protecting Channel shipping. In 1941 the so-called Circus operations began: formations of Blenheims escorted by Hurricanes and Spitfires to force the Luftwaffe into combat. They did not deliver the hoped-for results, partly because of how vulnerable the bomber was.
