Sukhoi Su-57 Su-57E

From the early stages of the PAK FA programme, Russia sought foreign partnerships to increase development funding and secure large export orders. After India left the FGFA programme in 2018, Sukhoi continued to develop and promote the aircraft for prospective export customers and marketed it at the 2019 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition. The export variant, designated Su-57E, was officially unveiled at the MAKS-2019 air show on 28 August 2019. Rosoboronexport markets it as the Perspective multirole fighter (PMF).

The documented differences from the Russian aircraft are a different IFF, flight instrument software adjusted to display readings in imperial units and English cockpit labelling; non-Russian weapons can also be integrated as requested.

Algeria presented itself in February 2025 as the first export customer. The size of the contract is reported in incompatible ways — fourteen aircraft within a package signed in December 2019 alongside Su-34s and Su-35s, twelve Su-57Es delivered in batches, or an initial six — and no figure is confirmed by the parties. What was announced is the delivery of the first two aircraft in November 2025, with price estimates of 100 to 120 million dollars per aircraft.
