History
Strengthened to carry more
The Il-62MK was developed in 1978 from the Il-62M. It keeps the four Soloviev D-30KUs of 107.9 kN but strengthens the wing and landing gear for operations at higher gross weights, letting it carry about 2 tonnes more payload or fuel than the Il-62M. The source describes it as a medium-range version.
Capacity conflict
The source disagrees with itself on maximum seating: the variants census gives it 195 seats while the development text says it was developed to seat up to 198. Both figures are recorded without choosing; the sheet adopts 195 as the figure from the variants census.
