History
The improved Mk 1000
The Mk 3000 is the short fuselage of the Mk 1000 with the improvements the Mk 4000 brought to the long one: 1.5 m more span, a strengthened wing, greater fuel capacity and the quieter Rolls-Royce Spey 555-15H engines. It was approved on 19 July 1978 and also existed as the 3000C with a large main-deck cargo door.
Performance
The increase in wing area and maximum weight — 33,110 kg against the Mk 1000's 29,480 kg — produced the best range in the family: 2,872 km at maximum payload, nearly a thousand kilometres more than the Mk 1000, while keeping 65 seats.
Career
It entered service with Garuda Indonesian Airways and became one of the most successful Fellowship versions. Its 3000R and 3000RC sub-variants rounded out the offer with specific cabin and cargo configurations.
