The B-52F was given Pratt & Whitney J57-P-43WB engines with a larger-capacity water-injection system, providing greater thrust than previous models (61.2 kN each versus 47 kN on the B through E models). It had fuel-leak problems, eventually solved through several service modifications known as "Blue Band", "Hard Shell" and "QuickClip". 89 were built.
