India Today reports on the launch of the Vikram-1 from Sriharikota at 12:05, after a planned hold in the countdown. By placing its payload into orbit on the Aagaman mission, Skyroot Aerospace became the first Indian private company to put an orbital rocket into space.

The piece includes statements attributing the success to the opening of the sector to private companies around five or six years earlier, and to support from ISRO and IN-SPACe. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Pawan Kumar Chandana and his team. Skyroot was founded eight years before the flight.

The mission was meant to validate propulsion, guidance, navigation and stage separation. The rocket is designed to carry satellites of up to 350 kg into a low orbit of 450 km, as the basis for future commercial launches, in an Indian space economy that aims for 44 billion dollars.
