NDTV report for the India Ascends programme on Vikram-1, India's first private orbital rocket, developed by Skyroot Aerospace in Hyderabad and named in honour of Vikram Sarabhai, father of the Indian space programme.

According to the piece, the rocket is 20 m long, generates 1,200 kN of thrust and carries up to 480 kg to low Earth orbit; it can be assembled and launched in under three days from any site. Its ascent uses four stages: the solid-fuelled Kalam-1200 booster, 10 m long with 120 t of thrust, the Kalam-250 for the middle stretch, a third stage that operates in space, and a final stage with four Raman engines that orients the rocket and places the satellites. It has a carbon-fibre structure and 3D-printed engines.

The report placed the maiden flight in early the following year and presents it as a turning point for India's space missions.
