Pegasus IRIS Launch June 27,2013

Video from the channel OrbitalSci about Pegasus XL, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 4:43. Language: English. Video type: Launch.

Orbital Sciences montage with the highlights of the launch of NASA's IRIS spacecraft on a Pegasus rocket.

Almost the entire video is footage set to music. At the end, the countdown, the rocket drop command and its ignition can be heard, with attitude and electrical power within expected parameters.

It closes with the announcement that the TDRS relay satellites are receiving telemetry from IRIS, a sign that the spacecraft has successfully separated from the Pegasus: that is where the rocket's mission ends and IRIS's begins, dedicated to studying the Sun.
