First American Spacewalk - Gemini IV.
Video from the channel Robin Youlton about Gemini IV, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 4:49. Language: English. Video type: Archive footage.
A compilation of NASA footage and audio of Edward White's spacewalk during Gemini 4, with background music.
First, mission control announces that White has opened the hatch and is standing in his seat. Then the crew's communications can be heard: the egress, the turns White controls with his maneuvering gun, and the photographs. At the end comes the flight director's order to return to the capsule, along with the reminder that three and a half days of the mission still remain.
It was the first spacewalk by an American astronaut.
