Video from the channel British Movietone about Apollo 6, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 3:50. Language: English. Video type: Archive footage.

Colour newsreel from British Movietone, now distributed by AP Archive, presenting the planned Apollo 6 mission. It opens with the crawler-transporter carrying the vehicle from the assembly building to Complex 39 at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Animations then explain each phase of the flight.

It was filmed before launch: the narration gives it as scheduled for no earlier than April 3, 1968.

The piece describes the second test of the Saturn V, with seven and a half million pounds of thrust at liftoff. It explains stage separation, the circular orbit at about 100 nautical miles, the third-stage restart, the separation of the command and service modules, reentry at lunar-return velocity, and recovery in the Pacific, near Hawaii, 9 hours and 50 minutes after liftoff.
