Video from the channel Cosmo Militar about Embraer, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 14:34. Language: Portuguese. Video type: News.

What's announced

On 9 March 2026 the first Embraer E190F, a converted freighter version of the E190, made its inaugural commercial flight between Cologne (Germany) and Larnaca (Cyprus) with Bridges Air Cargo, a Malta-based subsidiary of the Bridges logistics group and the type's first operator, carrying express freight and parcels.

Context

Embraer unveiled the E-Freighter concept at the 2021 Dubai Airshow and launched the passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion programme in March 2022, which includes a large main-deck cargo door, floor reinforcement, a rigid barrier, smoke detection and changes to the air system. The first partners, Nordic Aviation Capital and Astral Aviation, dropped out of the programme, and Regional One took over as the main lessor. The prototype flew in April 2024 in São José dos Campos, was displayed at Farnborough in July that year, and obtained EASA certification in February 2025, adding to those already held from the FAA and ANAC.

What it means

The video puts the maximum structural payload at 13,500 kg and the range at 2,300 nautical miles, and credits it with over 40% more volume and triple the range compared with large cargo turboprops. At the 2025 Paris Air Show, Regional One and Bridges expanded their orders from two to four aircraft. The aircraft used for the inaugural flight rolled off the production line in 2010 and flew passengers for Avianca El Salvador.
