Malindo Air puts the first Boeing 737 MAX into service

The first 737 MAX delivery was a MAX 8 for Malindo Air, Lion Air's Malaysian subsidiary, on 6 May 2017; the airline put it into service on 22 May. By January 2019 the series had 5,011 firm orders, before two accidents grounded it.
