Lufthansa puts the Boeing 737 into commercial service

Lufthansa took delivery of its first 737-100 on 28 December 1967 and put it into service on 10 February 1968. It was the first time a non-American airline had launched a new Boeing aircraft: the German carrier had been launch customer for the short model, of which only 30 were built before the 737-200 took over.
