Boeing delivers the 5,000th 737

On 13 February 2006 Boeing delivered the 5,000th 737 to Southwest Airlines. The milestone came almost four decades after the first flight, with the Next Generation in full production at a rate that would reach 6,000 aircraft just three years later.
