Wood, fabric, and a single seat

The Avions Fairey Junior, also known as the Tipsy Junior, was a single-seat light aircraft built in Belgium. It was a conventional low-wing monoplane with tailwheel landing gear and wood-and-fabric construction. The first Junior, registered OO-TIT, flew on 30 June 1947 from Gosselies, Belgium.

Gosselies after the war

On 10 May 1940 the Avions Fairey factory had been heavily bombed by the Germans. After the war the company resumed operations at Gosselies airfield, near Charleroi, handling maintenance of the Air Force's C-47 Skytrains. The first Junior was written off after a hard landing in 1948. The Junior found no buyer, and the third fuselage was cancelled before completion.
