At the closing of the Mexico Aerospace Fair (FAMEX) 2019, the commander of the Mexican Air Force, General Manuel de Jesús Hernández González, announced that the United States would be the guest of honour country for the 2021 edition.

The piece reviews Canada's role as guest country in 2019, an edition with 5,800 business meetings, and the US presence in previous editions: CH-47 Chinook helicopters in 2015, a reduced pavilion in 2017, and in 2019, a static display of a C-130H and an A-10, plus the flying display of the A-10 Thunderbolt II.

As partner country, a large delegation of US companies and aircraft is expected for 2021.
