History
A luxury Fokker 100
The Fokker 100EJ (Executive Jet) appeared in 2003 and did not come off the assembly line: these were used airliners remanufactured by Fokker Services. Priced around twelve million dollars, they seated between 19 and 31 passengers in three different luxury layouts, all with galleys and two with a shower-equipped master suite. An auxiliary fuel system extended range by roughly 1,600 km.
How many there were
By late 2009 six Fokker 100s were in VIP service and two more were configured as 50-seat corporate transports. The conversion exploited the second-hand market created by the type's mass retirement from airlines and gave the airframe an outlet other than the freighter.
