History

The EMB 111 was the first maritime patrol aircraft of Brazilian design and spent decades watching the coastline and supporting search and rescue in the South Atlantic. Two aircraft were leased to the Argentine Navy during the Falklands War as a stop-gap between the retirement of its last Lockheed SP-2H Neptunes and the arrival of modified Lockheed L-188 Electras.
