Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante EMB 100 (YC-95)

The EMB 100, designated YC-95 by the Brazilian Air Force, was the aircraft the whole programme started with: it took off from São José dos Campos with José Mariotto Ferreira at the controls and Michel Cury as flight engineer, landing after some fifty minutes. The English Wikipedia dates that flight 26 October 1968 while the Portuguese one gives the 22nd, a discrepancy worth settling against a primary source. A second prototype flew on 19 October 1969 and a third on 29 June 1970. Their performance is what led to production being approved and, with it, to the creation of Embraer; the first airframe is preserved at the Campo dos Afonsos Aerospace Museum and the third at the Parque Santos Dumont in São José dos Campos.
