Airbus A320 NEO vs. A320 CEO: What's the Difference?
Video from the channel Runway Revealed about Airbus A320, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 2:59. Language: English. Video type: Documentary.
The video compares the two generations of the Airbus A320 family: the original, called ceo (current engine option), and the neo (new engine option), which Airbus introduced in 2016.
The A320 family has operated short- and medium-haul routes since the late 1980s. The main difference lies in the engines. The ceo is fitted with the CFM56 or the IAE V2500, while the neo uses the CFM LEAP-1A or the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G.
According to the video, the neo burns up to 15% less fuel and has around 500 nautical miles more range. Its cabin is quieter, and it emits less CO2 and fewer nitrogen oxides.
