Vega-C launches Smile
Video from the channel SciNews about Vega-C, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 2:13. Language: English. Video type: Launch.
Brief excerpt from the launch of the Smile mission aboard a Vega-C. The narrated segment begins with the rocket already in flight and a graphic comparing the planned trajectory (green) with the actual one (yellow).
The sequence confirms the separation of the second stage, Zefiro 40, the ignition of the third, Zefiro 9, and the jettison of the payload fairing, no longer needed outside the dense layers of the atmosphere.
The clip ends with propulsion declared nominal. It does not show the satellite separation.
