Video from the channel FRANCE 24 about Starship, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 3:39. Language: French. Video type: News.

France 24 reviews, with journalist Sylvain Rousseau, Starship's first test flight from Texas: after the countdown was suspended seconds before the end, the rocket lifted off and exploded in flight, an outcome presented as acceptable because the main objective was to lift off.

The commentator notes that several of the 33 Raptor engines were shut down and that the failure occurred at the separation between the booster and the ship, which did not happen and dragged the whole stack to its destruction.

Starship's intended role is recalled: carrying astronauts to the lunar surface for NASA, placing around 100 tonnes into orbit and paving the way for crewed missions to Mars.
