Lanzamiento cohete Electron (espectacular sonido) RocketLab desde Nueva Zelanda (Replay)- EN ESPAÑOL
Video from the channel RDrone UY about Electron, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 13:56. Language: English. Video type: Launch.
The mission
Rocket Lab's official broadcast, with its original English narration, of Electron's 31st launch, lifting off from Launch Complex 1 at 06:09 local time with a General Atomics satellite, GAzelle. The destination is a Sun-synchronous orbit at 750 km altitude and 98 degrees inclination. The mission is presented as a contribution to sustainability, enabling tracking of wildlife behavior and health, and coincides with World Space Week.
Sequence
After the terminal countdown, with the pad's deluge system activated, the rocket lifts off, throttles down to pass through maximum aerodynamic pressure and recovers thrust before main engine cutoff and stage separation. The second stage ignites, the fairing is jettisoned once the densest part of the atmosphere has been cleared, and a hot-swap of batteries is confirmed: the depleted pack powering the Rutherford engine's electric pumps, which spin at over 42,000 rpm, is replaced with a fresh one and is jettisoned. With the vehicle above 18,000 km/h and 290 km altitude, second stage engine cutoff and separation of the kick stage follow.
Outcome
The kick stage is left in an elliptical orbit for a roughly 45-minute coast phase, after which the Curie engine is to raise the perigee and circularize the orbit. The satellite deployment, planned for around T+55 min, does not appear in the recording, which ends earlier.
