The last Ariane 5 launch

Video from the channel SciNews about Ariane 5, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 4:46. Language: English. Video type: Launch.

The video shows the liftoff of the last Ariane 5, carrying the Syracuse 4B and Heinrich Hertz satellites.

The commentators follow the flight from about 11 kilometres from the pad and note that the roar arrives with a delay. Control calls confirming nominal propulsion and trajectory can be heard. Around the two-minute mark, the two strap-on boosters separate; they provide about 90% of the thrust and weigh about 240 tonnes each, for a launcher weighing 771 tonnes on the ground. At the centre of the image remains the white dot of the Vulcain engine on the main stage. A few seconds later the fairing separates, while the screen continues to track the planned trajectory.

As far as the video goes, the flight proceeds normally according to confirmations from the operations centre.
