A USS Hornet museum piece in which one of its volunteers, seated inside command module CM-011, reviews the uncrewed AS-202 mission using previously unseen archival footage from the National Archives.

The spacecraft was a Block I without docking capability, built by North American Aviation in Downey. It lifted off atop a Saturn IB on August 25, 1966, 45 minutes behind schedule. After a skip reentry it splashed down far from the target: C-130 aircraft dropped rescue swimmers, and the Hornet brought it aboard after nearly 10 hours in the water.

It was later used in land-impact tests in Houston, and since 2004 it has been on display aboard the Hornet.
