The An-225 debuts at the Paris Air Show carrying the Buran orbiter

Designed to carry Buran-class orbiters and Energia rocket boosters, the An-225 made its first public appearance outside the Soviet Union at the 1989 Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, where it was displayed with a Buran orbiter mounted on top of its fuselage.
