First production C-17 delivered to the USAF at Charleston
July 14, 1993
On 14 July 1993 the first production C-17 was delivered to Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina. The first unit equipped with the type was the 17th Airlift Squadron, beginning the Globemaster III's path to operational service.
