Darryl Greenamyer sets the FAI 3 km low-altitude speed record
October 24, 1977
Flying N104RB, a privately built Starfighter first flown in 1976, Darryl Greenamyer set the official FAI 3 km low-altitude speed record at 1,590.45 km/h (988.26 mph), after a tracking-camera fault had voided an earlier attempt.
