Chuck Yeager ejects from the NF-104A during an altitude flight

The third NF-104A (56-0762), delivered to the USAF on 1 November 1963, was destroyed while flown by Chuck Yeager, who ejected. The crash was told in his autobiography and in the book and film The Right Stuff.
