Video from the channel Beyond Explained about Sukhoi Su-57, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 4:04. Language: English. Video type: Documentary.

The video compares the American F-22 Raptor with the Russian Sukhoi Su-57, two fifth-generation fighters, based on their performance and several possible combat scenarios.

It recalls that Lockheed Martin developed the F-22 and that it was built in limited numbers due to its cost and the shift of focus to the F-35. The more recent Su-57 has had development problems and has barely taken part in air-to-air combat in Ukraine.

According to the video, the F-22 reaches 1,599 mph, has a range of 2,000 miles and a 20 mm cannon. The Su-57 reaches 1,616 mph, with a range of 3,107 miles and a 30 mm cannon, and adds larger weapons bays and an infrared search system that the F-22 lacks. The conclusion is that the F-22 retains the edge in stealth and avionics.
